Knits combined with pleating

For my Bachelor project entFalten at HSLU dfk, I explored the creative potential of knitted textiles in combination with pleating. The resulting textile collection consists of seven pieces and reflects an experimental exploration of material, form and color.

The project involved a range of textile techniques, including knitting on the handknitting machine (Passap Duomatic 80) as well as on a Stoll industrial knitting machine, handpleating the textiles and finally applying color using an airbrush gun.

The project focused on the three-dimensional qualities of the textiles and how they drape on and interact the body, exploring their potential as garments.
